Appeal following death of man

Officers from our Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following an incident on the A500 northbound at Porthill at around 4.30am on Tuesday 29 July.

A man, aged in his 20s, is believed to have fallen from the Porthill overbridge and collided with a white articulated LGV travelling northbound.

Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene and specialist officers are supporting the family at this difficult time.

Anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the collision or saw either the LGV or the man beforehand is asked to call 101 quoting incident 88 of 29 July, or contact us using Live Chat on our website.
